Victoriano is the best runner in Panalachi area. From earliest childhood, Tarahumara are taught to run rather than walk. This way they can get to their destination quicker. It prepares them also for the long races they run over mountains. The Tarahumara races sometimes last two days and two nights, without break! To make it more challenging and fun they kick a wooden ball in front of them. Two teams compete against each other. Lots of betting take place before the race.
